Bishop Patrick Dunn
A Thought for Today

Tuesday 14 September 2021
Feast of the Triumph of the Holy Cross

Patrick Dunn, the Bishop of Auckland, enthusiastically encourages the organisers of this Eucharistic Convention in their work, because he knows the great spiritual fruits generated from this event over many years.  Conversion, healing, regeration of faith and a powerful presence of the Holy Spirit is the common denominator that runs through these conventions year after year. Our city is truly blessed to have an event like this, and it’s not only Catholics that benefit, many the stories from people of many different faiths who have had their lives enriched in some way having attended a convention.

In 2012 Bishop Pat spoke about the challenges that face our Church today, I share it with you here, because much a what Bishop Pat shared back then is still relevant, and is invaluable to us in our quest to evangelise into our secular culture, with a message that may encourage some to want to know more.
